Hey guys,
I wrote this poem during a time of mental confinement. This poem reminds me that it’s easier to be harsh on yourself instead of kind. That self-talk has the power to create negative action. And if you let it, carve out a place to stay.
Till next time,
Justin
A New Roommate
by Justin Gil
I have a jerk of a new roommate who's just moved in, I have a jerk of a new roommate and he's not my friend- he's loud obnoxious and doesn't let me sleep, I have a jerk of a new roommate who reminds me I'm a freak. I can't evict this jerk, nor can I escape- I have a jerk of a new roommate who reminds me l'm not great. I have a jerk of a new roommate who lives rent-free, I have a jerk of a new roommate who always questions me. I have a jerk of a new roommate who doesn't fuck-off, I have a jerk of a new roommate and he's starting to rub off.
